When you work as a developer you know that the budget for outsourcing and finding the perfect content creator for your project may be a long and unpleasant process. So what if you do want to create a stunning 3D particle scene, but you have to, or want to, do it on your own?

With this course you will be able to start from an imperfect model downloaded from a free stock and turn it into something spectacular, without the help of any super talented 3D artist or photographer. For sure we know their work conveys incredible emotions and masterpieces, but we will focus on what we can create when they are not around.

This will be a killer skill, given the importance 3D art gained inside digital projects: it is effectively an alternative to replace images with something interactive that gives more depth and layers to the scene, and can be way lighter than its static sisters.

You will learn how to open and optimise with Blender, export for the web in super light formats, import in THREE.JS to transform the model into a system of thousands of particles, and with Shaders and Shader Materials apply colours and distortions.

At the end of the class, you will master a mind-blowing 3D skill to drop on your future projects.

Now it’s up you: subscribe and enjoy the class!

Frequently asked questions

What prerequisites are needed for this course?
Before enrolling, you should have a basic understanding of 3D modeling concepts and some familiarity with Blender and Three.js. The course will cover aspects like loading models and animating particles, so prior experience in similar environments would be beneficial.
What kind of project will I be building in the course?
In this course, you will create a 3D particle scene using Blender and Three.js. This includes tasks such as editing models like a skull and a horse, setting up particles, and animating them to create a visually engaging scene.
Who is the target audience for this course?
The course is designed for developers and digital artists who want to enhance their skills in creating 3D scenes and animations using Blender and Three.js. It's particularly useful for those who prefer to create content independently rather than outsourcing.
How does this course compare in depth to other similar courses?
This course offers a focused exploration on creating a specific type of 3D scene with particles using Blender and Three.js. It covers a streamlined process from setting up projects to final touches, which may be more specific than other general 3D modeling courses.
What specific tools or platforms will I learn to use?
You will learn to use Blender for 3D modeling and edits, such as working with skull and horse models. Additionally, Three.js is used for displaying the 3D scenes in a web environment, and GLSL is introduced for shader programming.
What topics are not covered in this course?
The course does not cover the basics of Blender or Three.js extensively, nor does it delve into advanced particle physics or rendering techniques beyond the scope of creating a single scene.
How much time should I budget to complete the course?
Even though the total runtime is not specified, with 14 lessons covering setup, modeling, and animation, you should expect to spend additional time outside of video lessons for practice and project work. A commitment of a few hours per week over several weeks could be needed to fully grasp the material.
