Everyone as a kid was fascinated by crash test footage and those poor crash test dummies. Well, now you can inflict misery on crash dummies of your very own! This class will guide you through rigging a dynamic ragdoll in Cinema4D and advanced tips for setting up the car too, so that it has a very accurate (and breakable!) rigid body structure. You will also learn how to optimise your dynamic scene so the dynamic simulations are reliable and realistic, without any glitches.

Another fundamental part of the masterclass is setting up a repeatable scene, without compromising the randomness of the dynamic collisions, the video will seamlessly loop. You will also use After Effects to very simply help achieve this. These animations are perfect for engaging instagram videos and gifs.

Who teaches Infinite Crash using Cinema 4D? Motion Design School

Motion Design School thumbnail

Motion Design School is a Latvia-based online school focused entirely on motion graphics and character animation, primarily using Adobe After Effects, Cinema 4D, and the broader 2D/3D animation toolchain. They are one of the largest dedicated motion-design education brands online, with a multi-thousand-student community.

The CourseFlix listing carries twelve Motion Design School courses spanning character animation, After Effects scripting, 3D for motion designers, and the production craft around generating broadcast-quality motion-design work. Material is paid and aimed at designers and motion artists building professional-grade animation skills rather than dabbling in basic After Effects edits.

Frequently asked questions

What prerequisites are needed for this course?
The course requires familiarity with Cinema 4D as it involves complex rigging techniques and dynamic simulations. A basic understanding of 3D modeling and animation principles will also be beneficial for following the lessons effectively.
What will I be able to create by the end of the course?
By the end of the course, you will be able to rig a dynamic ragdoll and create a breakable car setup in Cinema 4D. You'll learn to simulate realistic crash test scenes, with an emphasis on making the dynamics reliable and glitch-free. Additionally, you'll be able to create a loopable crash scene.
Who is the target audience for this course?
The course is aimed at intermediate to advanced users of Cinema 4D who are interested in dynamic simulation and animation. It is particularly suited for those wanting to expand their skills in creating complex, realistic animations involving physics-based interactions.
What specific tools or features of Cinema 4D are covered?
The course covers rigging techniques for dynamic ragdolls and cars in Cinema 4D, along with setting up dynamic simulations. It focuses on creating breakable rigid body structures and optimizing scenes for realistic and reliable results.
How does this course differ from similar animation courses?
This course specifically focuses on dynamic simulations in Cinema 4D, particularly involving crash test dummies and cars. Unlike general animation courses, it provides detailed guidance on rigging for breakability and creating loopable crash scenes, which are not typically covered in standard courses.
What is not covered in this course that I might need to learn elsewhere?
The course does not cover basic Cinema 4D operations or general 3D modeling and texturing techniques. It is focused on dynamic simulations and assumes prior knowledge of the basic functionalities of Cinema 4D.
What is the expected time commitment for completing this course?
The course consists of 6 lessons. While the total runtime is not specified, you should allocate additional time for practicing the techniques on your own to fully grasp the concepts and complete the exercises.
