About Dr. Justine Lee
Dr. Justine Lee is a board-certified veterinary specialist in emergency critical care and toxicology. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She then earned her doctor of veterinary medicine degree from Cornell University.
After graduation, she completed an internship at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston. She then finished a fellowship and residency in emergency and critical care at the University of Pennsylvania.
Work and Leadership
Dr. Lee is the CEO and cofounder of VETgirl, a subscription service that offers RACE‑approved online veterinary education through podcasts and webinars. She has served on the faculty at the University of Minnesota. She also led an animal poison control center.
She has appeared on radio and television to share guidance on preventive care, animal health, and pet well-being. She also lectures around the world on emergency critical care.
Publications
Dr. Lee is the coeditor of several veterinary textbooks. She has written more than 40 peer-reviewed scientific articles. She is also the author of It’s a Dog’s Life … but It’s Your Carpet and It’s a Cat’s World … You Just Live in It.
